4 sneaky threats the Panthers must respect vs. Saints in Week 3

Carolina Panthers must respect Chris Olave
Chris Olave is a quick twitch wide receiver that can cause endless problems. He’s a good route runner and knows how to read defenses to find the voids in zone coverage.
The No. 1 overall selection in 2022 hasn’t put up outstanding receiving numbers yet, but that doesn’t mean he can’t. Olave has 16 targets for eight receptions and 121 yards over his first two games in the NFL.
With the return of Michael Thomas, he’s become the focal point once again. The Carolina Panthers have to make sure to keep enough attention on Olave, who can burn the secondary with elite speed on the outside and also lend his support from the slot when called upon.
If the Panthers aren’t keen on respecting Olave’s abilities to take the top off a defense, that will change quickly with a 4.39-second time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. Something that can easily beat man coverage if the defensive backs aren’t up for the challenge.
Olave was one of the best receivers in the 2022 draft, and there’s a reason for that. He was ultra-productive at Ohio State and the early signs point to the wideout being equally as productive at the next level if his opening two performances are any indication.
Carolina has a problem with Thomas, Olave, and Jarvis Landry. A complication that would increase if Donte Jackson cannot prove his fitness.
