Eddy Pineiro – Carolina Panthers K

Eddy Pineiro has filled in wonderfully for the injured Zane Gonzalez. He made all three field goal attempts versus the New Orleans Saints, converting from 34, 45, and 48 yards along with nailing his only extra-point attempt of the afternoon.

Still perfect on the season, Carolina Panthers fans must be pleased with his work on the field.

Yet to miss this season and Carolina’s offense unable to generate many touchdowns, expect Pineiro to have another busy afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals. He has back-to-back outings with double-digit points, and I expect the same in Week 4.

Finally!

The Panthers’ long-standing premier unit was back to dominating an opposing offense in Week 3 with two interceptions – one for a touchdown – a fumble recovery, and a sack. Carolina’s defensive unit is also trending in the right direction allowing fewer points each week.

Special teams stepped up big with a blocked kick and Pineiro not missing on any field goals. The punting of Johnny Hekker is something else putting the defense in field positions to make their presence felt.

Start or Sit in Week 2?

START.

It feels good to finally say this.

The Cardinals are without their best wide receiver, the running game has been lackluster and the Kliff Kingsbury-led squad has not put up the points many expected to before the season started. Expect the Panthers’ defense to build on last week’s momentum and keep the good times rolling.
