Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

The situation surrounding Terrace Marshall Jr. is bemusing and disappointing in equal measure. Things haven’t gone according to plan for the former second-round selection despite another strong training camp, with the Carolina Panthers reluctant to give the player any reps or targets over the first four games in 2022.

Marshall has all the physical attributes needed to become a force. But something just isn’t clicking in Carolina and if the same trend continues in the coming weeks, it might be time for both parties to go their separate ways.

The LSU product still has some value from a potential standpoint. Marshall reportedly received trade interest before the season, but it’s unlikely Carolina would get anything like the No. 59 overall selection they sacrificed to bring him from the college ranks.

Carolina wouldn’t be eating much in the way of dead-cap if they eventually parted ways with Marshall. Considering how things have gone for the player so far, he’d probably welcome a fresh start if given the opportunity.

This situation is just sad, in all honesty. Carolina’s offense isn’t exactly setting the world alight, so for Marshall to be a healthy scratch over the last two contests is a damning indictment of how the coaching staff sees him right now.
