Christian McCaffrey put up quality numbers again

Doing much with very little seems to be an ongoing theme where Christian McCaffrey is concerned in 2022. The running back puts up outstanding dual-threat numbers weekly, but significant deficiencies elsewhere mean it’s all for nothing more often than not.

This was another contest where McCaffrey went over 100 all-purpose yards. This takes his tally to 512 yards on the season with three combined touchdowns, which has been a real positive despite everything else crumbling around the All-Pro.

Perhaps more importantly, McCaffrey hasn’t missed any games as yet. Turning out five times in a row is something the player hasn’t accomplished since his historic 2019 season, which represents a massive positive considering the health concerns heading into the campaign.

It looks for all intents and purposes as if the Carolina Panthers are about to endure yet another losing season. Sitting at 1-4 with some daunting games upcoming leaves little hope of preseason expectations being reached, so all McCaffrey can do is keep plugging away and hope others increase their performance levels.

The problem is, that looks some way off right now. And with a tricky trip to the underachieving Los Angeles Rams in Week 6, there could be more misery in Carolina’s immediate future.
