Carolina Panthers couldn’t win under Matt Rhule

When it’s all said and done, if you don’t win in the NFL then things won’t last long.

The Carolina Panthers never broke the five-win mark under Matt Rhule. This season looked set to be even worse and that just isn’t sustainable.

Panthers legend Ron Rivera was moved on after what is comparatively a better string of seasons before the team hired Rhule. That is saying something about just how bad the team has been under the former Baylor man.

The NFL is Super Bowl or bust and the Panthers have endured significant turmoil under Rhule. And finally, team owner David Tepper’s patience ran out.

Losing is especially hard to endure after the highs of 2015, which seems like another lifetime ago now. Fans tasted greatness only to have it squandered away by terrible decisions under Tepper’s ownership.

So many of these losses can be pinned on Rhule for one reason or another. In the end, that’s all that matters.

Not the empty promises or how close Rhule thought Carolina was to achieving success. The NFL is all about winning and with just 11 triumphs to his name, the head coach outstayed his welcome.
