5 teams that make sense if Carolina Panthers trade Christian McCaffrey

Christian McCaffrey could join Broncos
Christian McCaffrey spent the better part of his childhood around the Denver Broncos, so there is an obvious connection. His father Ed McCaffrey was a key member of the team’s Super Bowl-winning sides led by John Elway, which has led many to believe the former first-round pick could follow in his dad’s footsteps.
The Broncos are underachieving despite a roster loaded with talent. Quarterback Russell Wilson hasn’t met expectations following his high-profile trade from the Seattle Seahawks and losing star running back Javonte Williams for the season was another body blow to the team’s chances.
Denver does possess Mike Boone, Latavius Murray, and Melvin Gordon in the backfield. However, the temptation to acquire McCaffrey via trade could be too big to ignore in pursuit of salvaging something from their season.
This would take some convincing from the Carolina Panthers’ point of view. Denver doesn’t boast a draft selection until Round No. 3 in 2023, but general manager Scott Fitterer is reportedly seeking much more than that for one of the NFL’s premier talents at the position.
McCaffrey’s presence in Denver would give everyone a massive lift at just the right time. However, they might not have the resources to provide the Panthers with enough in the grand scheme of things.
