New York Giants could trade for Robbie Anderson

A team trending in another direction in need of wide receiver help is the New York Giants, who are second in the NFC East at 5-1 under new head coach Brian Daboll. Despite this record, they are dealing with a slew of injuries at their skill positions which could hold them back.

The Giants are currently without wideout trio Kadarius Tony, Kenny Golladay, and Sterling Shepard. During their Week 6 win over the Baltimore Ravens, New York’s top receiver was fourth-round tight end Daniel Bellinger who had five receptions for 38 receiving yards and a score.

Robbie Anderson may be a good fit for the Giants’ offense under coordinator Mike Kafka. They boast an elite running back in Saquon Barkley to set up the play-action game and starting quarterback Daniel Jones certainly has the arm for the deep ball – something the former undrafted prospect’s built a reputation for.

We’ve seen during his short tenure in New York that Daboll is resetting the Giants’ culture that had gone astray under the previous leadership of Joe Judge. He may see Anderson as something of a reclamation project and someone he can mold into a player that can succeed in his system.

The Carolina Panthers are obviously willing to listen, perhaps more so now than ever before. And based on the Giants’ exceptional start, it’s probably shifted the narrative within the building about what this team could potentially accomplish in 2022.
