5 Carolina Panthers under the microscope after Robbie Anderson trade

Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR
This is the chance Terrace Marshall Jr. has been waiting for. And make no mistake, failure is not an option.
The Carolina Panthers placed a huge amount of faith in the wide receiver when they ignored other pressing needs to select him at No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Marshall’s impressed over the last two summers in camp, but injury issues and a lack of consistency meant opportunities have been limited at best for the LSU product.
Marshall was even a healthy scratch for two games this season as Matt Rhule’s patience wore thin. Now that he’s been fired and Robbie Anderson is on the Arizona Cardinals, this might be all the second-year-pro needs to finally get his career on track.
From a physical standpoint, Marshall has everything one looks for in a productive NFL receiver. It might be a confidence issue more than anything else, but whether Ben McAdoo is the man to unlock his true potential is highly debatable.
The Panthers took calls from potential suitors about the possibility of moving Marshall on just one year into his rookie deal this offseason. Thankfully, they avoided the temptation as the potential is still there, but Carolina is counting on this promise to become something more – and quickly – in the immediate aftermath of Anderson’s departure.
