5 Carolina Panthers on the hot seat vs. the Buccaneers in Week 7

Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR
Robbie Anderson’s sideline outburst in Week 6 resulted in the wide receiver being sent to the locker room by Steve Wilks. As it turned out, this was the last memory anyone will have of him in a Carolina Panthers uniform.
Anderson was traded to the Arizona Cardinals for two low-end draft selections the following day. While this was a strong message, it leaves the Panthers without one of their primary weapons in the passing game at a time when everything on offense is abysmal outside of Christian McCaffrey and the offensive line.
There won’t be a better time for the Panthers to get a prolonged look at Terrace Marshall Jr. in Anderson’s absence. The former second-round selection was out of favor with Matt Rhule for one reason or another, but these latest developments could provide the wideout with a new lease of life in the face of some challenging circumstances.
Marshall’s physical gifts cannot be disputed. His is strong, and athletic, representing a mismatch if managed correctly, which is something the Panthers haven’t successfully accomplished as yet despite the player flashing real quality over two consecutive training camps.
This should be the starting audition Marshall’s been waiting for. Whether he can capitalize on this expected increase in playing time is the big question, which will go a long way to determining his long-term aspirations with the franchise.
