3 teams that could trade for Carolina Panthers QB Baker Mayfield

Colts could trade for Baker Mayfield
There are big changes afoot within the Indianapolis Colts after Matt Ryan was benched. This is another high-profile quarterback trade during the offseason which has backfired in a big way.
Ryan’s performances haven’t been up to the required standard, although a dismal offensive line hasn’t done him any favors. The Colts are now moving forward with Sam Ehlinger, who impressed during the preseason but there are no guarantees the same will happen in a competitive environment with real wins and losses at stake.
Frank Reich stated that this move doesn’t represent Indianapolis waving the white flag. Much will depend on how Ehlinger performs this weekend, but the Colts are gaining a reputation for wayward moves under center and could be tempted by another if the Carolina Panthers are receptive to offers for Baker Mayfield.
Again, the notion of Mayfield being traded seems ludicrous given his form prior to suffering his high ankle sprain. However, nothing can be ruled out in the modern-day NFL where players seem to be switching teams more frequently than ever.
If Reich feels under pressure regarding his job status, we’ve seen how desperate head coaches can get in this situation. One only has to look at the turbulent three years the Panthers endured under Matt Rhule to see that.
