Predicting the Carolina Panthers next five games after 2-6 start in 2022

Carolina Panthers at Seahawks
Coming off the bye week is normally the time when teams look better. It’s a chance to refresh, regroup, and fix some issues that came to light in the games previously.
The Carolina Panthers have a lot on their plate in the coming weeks. And if they thought a Week 14 game at the Seattle Seahawks would be a cakewalk prior to the season, that’s anything but the case now.
Seattle has rapidly become one of the league’s surprises thanks in no small part to the exceptional performances of quarterback Geno Smith. A true rags-to-riches story that’s propelled the journeyman into the national spotlight after years of languishing in obscurity.
Prediction: Loss (4-9)
For the Panthers to be sitting at 4-9 after such as disastrous start would represent an accomplishment for Steve Wilks, who is looking to convince team owner David Tepper he’s worthy of a bigger head coaching commitment beyond the current campaign.
While the billionaire might have other ideas, Wilks looks on course to restore pride back to Panthers football. A far cry from the laughing stock Carolina became under Matt Rhule.
Where this would leave the Panthers in terms of draft standing is anyone’s guess. There’s a lot of bad football being played around the league, so four wins could take them out of the top five at this juncture.
