Carolina Panthers could target Anthony Richardson

Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud are considered the elite prospects emerging from the college ranks in 2023. There are also a host of others behind them within a second-tier that possess significant upside.

Players such as Hendon Hooker and Will Levis will likely draw interest from teams throughout the evaluation process. Another with athleticism and an exciting style of play that shouldn’t be overlooked is Anthony Richardson.

Richardson has been unfairly compared to former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. While he doesn’t look on the same level right now, the traits are there for this prospect to take the league by storm with additional improvements.

The Florida standout has the arm strength to make almost every throw. Richardson also provides the dual-threat presence to completely shift the momentum of any game when in the mood.

While Richardson represents a potential game-changer, it might take time. His decision-making is sometimes suspect and there is a rawness to his poise that needs significant refinement before becoming an NFL starter.

There’s a small chance Richardson stays in school for another year. But the Panthers could cast their eye in this boom or bust direction if the top-two draft options become out of reach.
