Another that’s been thriving since Matt Rhule’s enforced departure from the Carolina Panthers is Terrace Marshall Jr. The former second-round selection took another big step forward last weekend at the Atlanta Falcons and is now firmly establishing himself within offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s scheme when hope was rapidly running out.
Trading Robbie Anderson to the Arizona Cardinals opened a window of opportunity for Marshall. He was seldom seen under Rhule despite dazzling in training camp, but the LSU product is eager not to waste this chance in the pursuit of becoming part of the organization’s long-term future.
Marshall is gaining a rapport with P.J. Walker, which also helps. However, the task awaiting the Panthers in Week 9 is significant as the Cincinnati Bengals are only giving up 210.4 yards per game through the air – ranked No. 15 across the league.
Converting red-zone trips into touchdowns is the only way Carolina can defy the odds in this one. Marshall’s physicality and high-catch point should assist, but the onus is also on Walker to put his primary playmakers in the best position to succeed.
With that being said, backing Marshall to score an anytime touchdown at +310 (bet $100 to win $310) could be solid value when it’s all said and done.
