4 bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers at Bengals in Week 9

Carolina Panthers QB P.J. Walker plays turnover-free
Despite Baker Mayfield’s improving health and Sam Darnold also ready to return, the Carolina Panthers are giving P.J. Walker the keys under center. Something the quarterback richly deserves after impressing considerably over the last two games.
The coaching staff now has supreme confidence in Walker. Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s playbook has opened up significantly after the shackles of Matt Rhule were lifted and the former Temple star is benefitting enormously as a result.
It was a strong testament to Walker’s resilience that he was able to shake off a disappointing first half at the Atlanta Falcons and almost drag the Panthers to an unlikely victory. Circumstances outside of his control meant there was no win to celebrate, but there is now a real belief that the one-time XFL MVP frontrunner can become the undisputed starter for their remaining contests in 2022.
Walker’s previous inconsistencies mean it could be a tough afternoon for the signal-caller at the Cincinnati Bengals and their underrated defense. Therefore, taking care of the ball and minimizing risks early on is of critical importance.
Should Walker play turnover-free football in Week 9, then the hope of Carolina pulling off an upset increases exponentially. Although it’s hard to say with any great conviction whether this can be accomplished.
