Terrace Marshall Jr. leads the Carolina Panthers in receptions and yards

Considering how bleak things looked for Terrace Marshall Jr. before Matt Rhule’s firing, such a quick turnaround in influence was welcome. The wide receiver has the physical tools to become a force, but it was evident for a long way out that the previous head coach was intent on holding the former second-round selection back for whatever reason.

Marshall is thriving after finally emerging from Rhule’s shadow. The coaching staff’s trust in the player is growing with every passing week and gaining the first touchdown of his career at the Cincinnati Bengals was further evidence of the impressive attributes he brings to the table.

The LSU product should be a big-time presence in Week 10, which is the first chance he’s had to announce himself on the national stage. Marshall was on the field briefly in 2021 at the Houston Texans – Carolina’s last primetime game – but opportunities were limited as the Panthers saw out the game in relative comfort.

Atlanta’s secondary isn’t anything to brag about. The Panthers torched them during the second half before causing their own demise in Week 8, so Marshall can benefit if the Falcons divert their attention to limiting D.J. Moore and running back D’Onta Foreman on early downs.

Marshall’s current momentum is another reason why he could lead the Panthers in receptions and receiving yards in Week 10. Something that would further cement his status as a legitimate No. 2 option.
