Everything you need to know for Panthers vs. Falcons in Week 10
By Dean Jones
Everything you need to know ahead of a crucial primetime contest for the Carolina Panthers against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.
The bright lights return to Bank of America Stadium in Week 10 as the Carolina Panthers host their only primetime game of the season. There wasn’t much time for Steve Wilks to dust his roster off after they were embarrassed at the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday, which saw more coaches fired in the immediate aftermath as the interim head coach looks to further install his methods onto an underperforming group of players.
Carolina will be wearing their all-black uniform/helmet combination for Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. The first clash between these fierce NFC South rivals in Week 8 was dramatic and saw the Panthers throw away a sure-fire win late on that would have surged them into first within the division.
That might provide Wilks and the fanbase with some hope. But the returning Cordarrelle Patterson represents a substantial issue for Carolina’s suspect run defense, who were demolished by Joe Mixon to the tune of 211 all-purpose yards and five combined touchdowns.
Talk of tanking is rife among Carolina’s loyal support. However, Wilks and many on the roster are fighting for their futures, so a big response is needed on Thursday in front of the NFL’s undivided attention.
Carolina Panthers vs. Falcons injury report
The Panthers have a relatively clean bill of health considering where we’re at in 2022. Although Wilks will be hoping that Donte Jackson, Taylor Moton, and Matt Ioannidis do enough to prove their fitness before the contest.
Carolina could also welcome back Chuba Hubbard back into the lineup after missing the last few weeks with an ankle issue. Fringe players Rashard Higgins and Juston Burris have already been ruled out.
Here is Carolina’s full injury report for Week 10:
- Juston Burris (S) – Out (concussion)
- Donte Jackson (CB) – Questionable (ankle)
- Chuba Hubbard (RB) – Questionable (ankle)
- Rashard Higgins (WR) – Out (illness)
- Matt Ioannidis (DT) – Questionable (back)
- Taylor Moton (OT) – Questionable (elbow)
Here is Atlanta’s injury report for Week 10:
- A.J. Terrell (CB) – Out (hamstring)
- Erik Harris (S) – Out (foot)
- Feleipe Franks (TE) – Out (calf)

Carolina Panthers vs. Falcons best bets
This is a tricky one to call considering the circumstances. A game that could genuinely go either way with the national spotlight glaring.
The Panthers must pick themselves off the canvas after a demoralizing thumping in Week 9. However, their second-half showing in Atlanta could be enough confidence to build a much better performance.
Taking the Panthers to cover the 2.5-point spread seems feasible. Considering the Falcons are without stud cornerback A.J. Terrell once again, backing D.J. Moore and Terrace Marshall Jr. to go over their receiving projections might also pay off in this same game parlay below.
- Carolina +2.5, D.J. Moore over 59.5 yards, and Terrace Marshall Jr. over 38.5 yards at +670 (bet $100 to win $670) with FanDuel Sportsbook.
