Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers LB

It’s taken Frankie Luvu a few weeks to get himself back to full throttle after a spell out through injury. However, the outside linebacker’s influence in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons was felt throughout.

Luvu was an energetic presence that had no trouble getting to the point of attack quickly. There was also a lot to like about the player’s ability to generate pressure, which has been sorely missing from the second level in 2022 and assisted the defensive line considerably.

This was arguably Luvu’s best game in a Carolina Panthers uniform. The former Washington State stud notched 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two sacks, which is a remarkable accomplishment from someone that’s now firmly established as an important part of the team’s plans.

Luvu’s performance level when he’s in this sort of mood is infectious. Something that other defensive players feed off and it came as no surprise to see the likes of Shaq Thompson and Xavier Woods stepping up as a result.

The Panthers need all this and more from Luvu in Week 11 at the Baltimore Ravens, which is undoubtedly Carolina’s toughest remaining fixture. He’ll need to be at the top of his game in the face of Lamar Jackson, who is mounting a strong NFL MVP challenge in the hope of securing a record-breaking contract in the near future.
