D’Onta Foreman – Carolina Panthers RB

Just why D’Onta Foreman was used so sparingly by previous head coach Matt Rhule is a mystery. The running back has thrived after the Carolina Panthers traded Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers, becoming the team’s workhorse and putting up substantial numbers to further enhance his overall influence.

Weather conditions were less than ideal for P.J. Walker to get the football downfield, leaving the Panthers relying heavily on Foreman in Week 10. A responsibility he was more than ready for en route to yet another outstanding display with the spotlight brighter than it’s been this season.

Foreman has the physicality to wear opposing defenses down. The former Texas star also possesses the explosiveness to make things happen once he gets to the second level, which he managed to do frequently thanks in no small part to Carolina’s outstanding offensive line.

With 130 rushing yards and one touchdown from 31 carries, the No. 1 running back job is now Foreman’s to lose. If he continues this throughout the Panthers’ remaining games, then those in power would be wise to give him an extension to prevent the player’s departure in free agency.

This strong showing is further proof of the gross incompetence during Rhule’s reign. Something that is unlikely to see him ever get an NFL head coaching position again.
