Baker Mayfield – Carolina Panthers QB

Well, it’s all come full circle, hasn’t it?

Baker Mayfield is once again the Carolina Panthers starting quarterback and Sam Darnold is waiting in the wings for any chance at redemption. Something of a surprise, but P.J. Walker’s injury ruled him out almost instantly and the Oklahoma product now has one last shot at redemption.

Both players were once seen as the saving grace for a Panthers organization on the ropes and failed to deliver on that promise. This may be their last chance to prove they belong and Mayfield gets the first try.

Panthers fans can only hope that the polarizing Mayfield has regained that spark that made him one of the most electric quarterbacks in the league with the Cleveland Browns. Without that swagger, the No.1  overall selection in 2018 feels like a shell of himself.

Mayfield’s career may very well be on the line in this game. If that isn’t motivation enough to pull out the victory then I don’t know what is.

It’s make-or-break time. If Mayfield can finally pull things together and recover that form from just a few seasons ago, then this game could go a whole lot different than anyone expected.

Does Mayfield even have that in him anymore? I guess we will all find out when those clocks hit zero on Sunday afternoon.
