4 Carolina Panthers players who deserve more credit in 2022

Austin Corbett – Carolina Panthers OL
For all the failings across the Carolina Panthers, one positional group continues to emerge with an endless amount of credit. The investment made in the offensive line over the offseason seems to be reaping significant rewards, which leaves hope that this unit can emerge as a force providing those in power can keep them all together.
One player going relatively under the radar that’s moved the needle more than most is Austin Corbett. The interior protector came in during free agency after helping the Los Angeles Rams win a Super Bowl in 2021 and judging by his supreme consistency, it’s something he’s clearly building upon.
Corbett’s been a revelation at the right guard spot, which had to cope with underperforming players such as John Miller and Dennis Daley in recent years. The former second-round selection has turned out in 583 snaps, giving up just one penalty and not allowing a single sack en route to an impressive 75.5 grade from Pro Football Focus.
This is exactly what the Panthers hoped for when they gave Corbett a three-year, $26.25 million deal with a $9.76 million signing bonus and $19.6 million guaranteed. More importantly, the lineman is becoming a force behind the scenes as a leader and mentor for the likes of Brady Christensen and Ikem Ekwonu.
Corbett has set the tone for others to follow. Hopefully, it is a trend that continues long into the future.
