Bravvion Roy – Carolina Panthers DT

The Carolina Panthers wasted no time in ruling Matt Ioannidis out for Sunday’s crucial game at the Baltimore Ravens through injury. This is a significant blow to a defensive front that must try and contain star quarterback Lamar Jackson on the road.

Derrick Brown and Brian Burns are playing at an elite level in 2022. However, there is no room for passengers against this caliber of opposition, so it remains to be seen just who interim head coach Steve Wilks goes with to fill the void.

One anticipates Bravvion Roy seeing more involvement rather than putting too much on Marquan McCall’s plate, although both will play a role in Ioannidis’ absence. The former Baylor standout hasn’t done enough to be considered a long-term starter on the defensive line interior, so just how he’ll cope with a formidable Ravens rushing attack could have a huge impact on the game’s overall outcome.

McCall is a more commanding force against the run, which is something. But this puts further pressure on Brown to continue his exceptional recent form that could end up with Pro Bowl honors in the not-too-distant future.

How Roy performs in Week 11 and over Carolina’s remaining games will likely determine whether the player sees out his rookie contract. But this might end up becoming a weak link Baltimore exploits heavily without Ioannidis in the lineup.
