For the Carolina Panthers to stand any chance of gaining success in this one, they must establish the same level of physicality that overwhelmed the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. However, it’s unlikely they’ll have things all their own way in this regard at the Baltimore Ravens.

John Harbaugh’s men are renowned for playing a physical style in all three phases. It will be a solid measuring stick to see how far Carolina has progressed under Steve Wilks, but winning in the trenches and establishing the run is absolutely crucial right out of the gate.

The Panthers are likely to lean on D’Onta Foreman heavily despite Chuba Hubbard not carrying an injury designation for the clash. His production following Christian McCaffrey’s trade to the San Francisco 49ers has been outstanding, but this is the sternest test so far against a Baltimore defense that’s giving up just 92 yards per game on the ground – ranked No. 3 across the league.

Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo must keep feeding Foreman even in times of struggle. This will hopefully make things more manageable for quarterback Baker Mayfield in third-down situations and also test a Baltimore front seven that has dynamic playmakers such as Justin Houston, Patrick Queen, and the recently acquired Roquan Smith.

Making opportunities count in the red zone is also crucial for Foreman. With that in mind, backing the former Texas standout to score a first-half touchdown at +490 (bet $100 to win $490) represents intriguing value.
