What were some quick thoughts to take from the Carolina Panthers’ loss against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11 at M&T Bank Stadium?

Another stiff test awaited the Carolina Panthers in Week 11 when they visited the Baltimore Ravens. A team right in the playoff mix and with strong hopes of making the Super Bowl in the not-too-distant future.

Carolina’s aspirations aren’t nearly as ambitious after a turbulent campaign so far. But interim head coach Steve Wilks is fighting for his long-term status and there is a growing belief within the locker room that he could be the man to propel this organization back to relevancy.

After suffering a heavy loss during their last road engagement at the Cincinnati Bengals, the Panthers were eager not to endure a similar fate in this one. As it turned out, a spirited effort was not enough to pull off an upset as Carolina fell to its eighth loss in 2022.

With this in mind, here are ten quick thoughts from Carolina’s defeat at the Ravens in Week 11.

Carolina Panthers started well

Considering how well the Baltimore Ravens offense normally begins proceedings almost every game, it was encouraging to see the Carolina Panthers’ defense keeping them in check right out of the gate. A challenge most teams around the league haven’t been able to match in 2022 so far.

Of course, this was only a start. But the Panthers looked ready to go from the outset, holding their discipline against the run and making things difficult for Lamar Jackson to go through his reads effectively during the first quarter.

This left the home side scoreless after one and it was great to see. Even if the windy conditions also played a significant part.
