Carolina Panthers could target Jared Verse

The Carolina Panthers could turn attention to another Florida State edge rusher given how much their decision to select Brian Burns paid off. Although there isn’t much to go off against top-class opposition, it’s hard not to love the way Jared Verse has applied himself since making the transfer from Albany to the Seminoles.

Verse was always considered among college football’s most dynamic small school players. So there were more than a few keeping a close eye on how he fared during a significant step up in standard.

This is a challenge Verse has thrived under more often than not. There is still some rawness to his overall production, which isn’t unexpected, but he’s done his chances of becoming a top-100 pick no end of good throughout the 2022 season so far.

The prospect has the sort of explosiveness normally associated with Florida State players. Verse has the lateral movement skills to adapt quickly depending on the situation and boasts the lower body strength to become impactful against the run to further enhance his status.

Some concerns could arise by putting Verse in a starting NFL role right out of the gate. But there is far more good than bad when examining an outstanding player coming into his own at the perfect time.
