10 quick thoughts from Carolina Panthers win vs. Broncos in Week 12
By Dean Jones
What were some quick thoughts to take from another win for the Carolina Panthers against the Denver Broncos in Week 12?
Another stern test awaited the Carolina Panthers in Week 12 when they welcomed the Denver Broncos to Bank of America Stadium. Things haven’t gone as many analysts predicted for the AFC West team in 2022, but their defense is outstanding and there was enough talent on offense to give Steve Wilks‘ men major problems if they weren’t up for the challenge.
Wilks is making a strong claim to win the head coaching job beyond 2022. The esteem in which he is held within the locker room holds significant weight, but results will also play a leading role in team owner David Tepper’s thought process when the time comes.
This was a winnable game for the Panthers all things considered. As it turned out, it was a comfortable afternoon for Carolina as they easily secured their fourth success of the season and the third straight in front of their home fans.
With this in mind, here are ten quick thoughts from Carolina’s impressive win versus the Broncos.
Quick Thought No. 1
Carolina Panthers got a tune out of D.J. Moore
The ongoing quarterback complications have impacted D.J. Moore significantly this season. However, there were signs of life where the wide receiver was concerned in Week 12.
Moore got open frequently, working second-year cornerback Patrick Surtain II throughout. Although Sam Darnold failed to hit him on occasion, his final stat line of four receptions from six targets for 103 receiving yards and one touchdown represented a positive step in the right direction. Something the former first-round pick out of Maryland can hopefully build upon after their bye week.
