4 Carolina Panthers unsung heroes at the 2022 bye week

James Campen – Carolina Panthers OL coach
As stated previously, the Carolina Panthers have an offensive line to be proud of once again. It’s been a remarkably long time since fans could say that and with all apart from Bradley Bozeman under contract for 2023, the future looks incredibly bright.
The players deserve a tremendous amount of praise, obviously. General manager Scott Fitterer and his staff should also take some plaudits for their recruitment during the last two offseasons.
However, ignoring the influence of James Campen would be foolish.
The offensive line coach has been a breath of fresh air since his appointment. Campen’s experience and knowledge went down extremely well from the outset and this is bringing about sensational improvements in a relatively short space of time.
There isn’t much that Campen hasn’t seen throughout his time in the league. He is held in high regard by everyone from players to fellow coaches – a trend that’s continued with the Panthers in no uncertain terms.
What Campen has done for the likes of Ikem Ekwonu and Brady Christensen cannot be understated. He’s also kept this line healthy and ensured cohesion came about quickly despite so many changes to Carolina’s options.
Even when Bozeman came in at center for the injured Pat Elflein, the Panthers didn’t skip a beat. Much like the situation with Chris Tabor, any new coach must keep Campen around at all costs.
