5 bold head coaching hires the Carolina Panthers could pursue in 2023

Carolina Panthers could target Jim Harbaugh
Going down the college route is something that wouldn’t go down too well with fans after Matt Rhule’s pathetic three years as head coach. But there is one man that could shift this narrative upon further examination.
Jim Harbaugh is not like most college coaches. For one, he has proven NFL credentials and remains deeply respected around the league following his time with the San Francisco 49ers.
This made a successful transition to the Michigan Wolverines, who look primed to make the college football playoffs once again and perhaps go one better in 2022 based on what’s transpired to date.
Harbaugh was extremely close to becoming head coach of the Minnesota Vikings earlier this year before a dramatic U-turn. This was seen as the coveted coach closing the door on his NFL aspirations, but that won’t stop David Tepper from making a call if he feels it can benefit the Carolina Panthers.
Much like the situation with Sean Payton, convincing Harbaugh to leave his Michigan comfort to take over in Carolina would take some doing. No amount of money in the world is worth it unless any new appointment is convinced they can work in relative harmony with Tepper, who is renowned for meddling in football decisions for good or bad.
Making an inquiry wouldn’t hurt. But it will take much more than that to sway Harbaugh all things considered.
