Carolina Panthers secure first road win of 2022

It’s been a long time since the Carolina Panthers celebrated success away from Bank of America Stadium. This occurred in Week 10 of the 2021 season when Cam Newton’s sensational return inspired them to a shock victory at the Arizona Cardinals.

Newton is no longer around after getting thrown under the bus by Rhule. And all four of Carolina’s victories so far during the current campaign have come on home soil.

While this is encouraging – especially with Steve Wilks’ 3-0 record as interim – any team with realistic hopes of becoming a contender hinge on their ability to gain wins in unfamiliar surroundings. Something that’s proven difficult for the Panthers in recent years.

The Seattle Seahawks and their passionate fanbase don’t provide the most hospitable environment. Weather conditions also become a factor at this time of year, so the challenge awaiting Wilks and his players cannot be understated.

This would be a statement triumph for Wilks. The Panthers are currently 4.0-point underdogs at Lumen Field according to FanDuel Sportsbook, but they are not without a chance based on their efforts against the Denver Broncos.

Everything has to go Carolina’s way, one suspects. But writing them off entirely would be extremely foolish.
