What are some keys to a potential shock victory for the Carolina Panthers when they travel to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14?

Relaxed and refreshed following the bye week, the Carolina Panthers embark on Week 14 looking to achieve two things this season for the first time. That would be winning on the road and securing back-to-back successes.

However, it won’t be easy as the Panthers face a Seattle Seahawks team firmly in contention for an NFC West title.

Following the blockbuster offseason trade that sent Seahawks stalwart Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, this season was expected to be a rebuild for Pete Carroll’s men. Not much was expected heading into the campaign with Drew Lock and Geno Smith battling for the starting job.

What we’ve seen from Smith since comfortably beating out Lock is top-10 quarterback play. Something that has a possible playoff spot in Seattle’s sights.

Despite it being a bye week, things were far from quiet on Mint Street. Steve Wilks announced the team was moving forward with Sam Darnold as the starter, which led to Baker Mayfield’s release and the Los Angeles Rams scooping him up off the waiver wire.

Mayfield announced himself in a big way on Thursday Night Football leading the Rams to a comeback win against the Las Vegas Raiders. For his time in Carolina, while signal-caller will be remembered as a good teammate, it’s clear his on-field play was entirely forgettable.

It’s time for everyone to move forward. With this in mind, here are four keys to a shock victory for the Panthers in Week 14.
