Carolina Panthers must pressure Seattle’s rookie tackles

After a slow start to the season, the Carolina Panthers’ pass rush has slowly started to show signs of life under interim defensive coordinator Al Holcomb. Through the last three games, they’ve logged an impressive 11 sacks led by star pass rusher Brian Burns.

Burns – who was subject to a blockbuster trade offer from the Los Angeles Rams close to the deadline – is showing the growth fans expected as he turns into one of the league’s best edge rushers. With his two-sack performance against the Denver Broncos in the player’s last outing, the former Florida State star finally broke the double-digit number that has alluded him since being drafted.

If the Panthers’ edge rushers wanted a game to target going after the quarterback, they may have penciled the Seattle Seahawks clash as one to look at. With a pair of rookie tackles in Abraham Lucas and Charles Cross defending Geno Smith, it’s vital Carolina gets after the inexperienced duo.

While on the whole, the tandem has performed admirably so far in 2022, we’ve seen signs of a rookie wall coming into play in the Seahawks’ recent encounters. This is something Burns and the Panthers can take advantage of.

For Carolina, the offensive line has been one of the standout features from the campaign. On the other side of the ball, it’s key that Carolina’s defensive front capitalizes on what seems to be a favorable matchup.
