5 draft prospects that could immediately help the Panthers in 2023
By Dean Jones
Which upcoming NFL Draft prospects could come in and immediately help within key positional groups for the Carolina Panthers in 2023?
While the Carolina Panthers haven’t given up hope of making the postseason, it’s hard for fans not to turn their attention towards what’s going to be another critical offseason for the franchise. There will be huge changes across the board once again and it’s vital the primary decision-makers hit on their conclusions after so much mismanagement during Matt Rhule’s disastrous three years at the helm.
Money is tight in Carolina, so the best way to find difference-makers will be via the 2023 NFL Draft. This year’s class is loaded with outstanding prospects in areas where the Panthers are in desperate need of assistance, with the organization boasting plenty of picks after trading Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers.
The assessments will be thorough and speculation will be rampant between now and April. But which players come on board could be dependent on where Carolina sits in the pecking order when the 2022 campaign concludes.
With this in mind, here are five draft prospects that could immediately help the Panthers in 2023.
Prospect No. 1
Carolina Panthers could draft Dalton Kincaid
Finding someone that can assist from a pass-catching standpoint at the tight end position should be a top priority for the Carolina Panthers in 2023. Ian Thomas is an exceptional blocker, but more is needed and something those in power can address during the draft.
Dalton Kincaid is a player of promise. His production at Utah this season was outstanding and there was a lot to like about his exceptional contribution to their PAC-12 championship triumph over USC, which won’t have gone unnoticed by NFL scouts.
Kincaid would be a perfect complimentary piece for Thomas. Someone that can make things happen across the middle and more importantly, in red-zone situations.
