Be disciplined at all times

All eyes will be on Jaycee Horn and D.K. Metcalf whenever they’re lined up against one another. The Carolina Panthers cannot put C.J. Henderson or Keith Taylor Jr. in this situation in pursuit of victory, so watching the son of former Pro Bowl wide receiver Joe Horn going with the wideout throughout would be prudent.

Even though quarterback Geno Smith is enjoying an incredible career renaissance, teams still feel like he’ll provide a turnover opportunity or two. But those who gamble normally pay the price these days.

Metcalf has the ability to break off big plays at will. His chemistry with Smith is superb and the signal-caller’s ability to bait cornerbacks before going over their heads is a big reason why he’s been so successful in 2022.

Therefore, it’s essential Horn remains disciplined at all times. Focusing on the receiver’s actions rather than what Smith is doing is just the start – he must also make tackles count in the event Metcalf does get the better of him on occasions.

Making things difficult at the line of scrimmage, showing conviction when the football arrives, and ensuring there is minimal damage if Metcalf does gain a reception. That’s the blueprint for Horn to thrive against the Seattle Seahawks.

Should he accomplish what is a monumental task, then Horn will go from a promising player to one of the most accomplished cornerbacks around. And make no mistake, this matchup is going to be nothing short of enthralling.
