4 Carolina Panthers players coming of age under Steve Wilks in 2022

Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR
Judging by the way Terrace Marshall Jr. was utilized under Matt Rhule, it’s clear to see that the previous head coach didn’t think all that much of the player.
The Carolina Panthers ignored other needs to select the wide receiver at No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. But despite flashing throughout two consecutive training camps, he was severely out of favor and left many wondering if this was a potential draft bust in the making.
Rhule getting fired was the best thing that could have happened for the Panthers and Marshall, who is enjoying a new lease of life with Steve Wilks. Something that could propel the former LSU star into a legitimate No. 2 option behind D.J. Moore with a strong end to the campaign.
Marshall’s miraculous catch at the Seattle Seahawks was further evidence of things going his way right now. The stats are not mesmerizing by any stretch, but the progress is there for all to see and hopes are high once again regarding the wideout’s long-term fortunes in Carolina.
With Moore’s status up in the air thanks to a sprained knee, the onus will be on Marshall to step up if the Maryland product is forced to miss time. Hopefully, that won’t be the case, but the second-year pro has at least proved somewhat capable of substantial volume in the passing game if the worst happens.
