Carolina Panthers get 100+ receiving yards from D.J. Moore
This wouldn’t have been a bold prediction for the talented wide receiver last season. But gaining over 100 receiving yards is something D.J. Moore‘s managed just twice in 2022 through no real fault of his own.
Moore’s suffered thanks to some suspect quarterback play when Baker Mayfield manned the plate. The Carolina Panthers have also moved to a run-first operation, which is reaping rewards but doing nothing for the Maryland product’s numbers.
There was some concern around Moore following Week 14 when the wideout’s knee issue warranted further tests. Even though he was deemed day to day with the complication, the former first-round pick was a full participant in practice and looks set to take his place in the lineup.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are improving slowly against the run after a porous opening to 2022. This means there could be additional opportunities for Moore against a less-than-stellar secondary giving up 242.7 passing yards per game.
Much will depend on how Darnold performs and whether or not Carolina can continue their impressive run attack. But there’s a good chance Moore gets over the 100-yard receiving mark for only the third time this season if everything clicks into place and health doesn’t become an issue.
