Carolina Panthers draft Sedrick Van Pran

  • Offensive Line | Georgia

Even though the offensive line has been a huge success this season, the Carolina Panthers shouldn’t get complacent in this area of the field. All it takes is one or two injuries to occur for everything to crumble, so acquiring additional reinforcements capable of stepping in at a moment’s notice is the best way to counteract this threat.

Pat Elflein looks like a prime early-cut candidate and Cam Erving is out of contract. So picking up options from the college ranks on the cheap is almost a necessity if the two veterans aren’t around.

Sedrick Van Pran represents a ton of value in this scenario. However, there’s a high likelihood he might surge up NFL draft boards once his film is fully assessed.

There’s a lot to like about the physical attributes Van Pran brings to the table. His long arms and violent hands come across whenever he’s on the field, with the player also possessing outstanding communication skills at the line of scrimmage for good measure.

Van Pran is a solid pass protector that can also impact matters on the second level in the run game. These traits could potentially be used at one of the guard positions as well as the center spot where he starred at Georgia.

Even if the Panthers give Bradley Bozeman the new deal he deserves, bringing in Van Pran could be worth its weight in gold long-term.
