Which Carolina Panthers are running out of time in their quest for new deals with the organization once the 2022 campaign concludes?

Everything was a little bit flat as the Carolina Panthers failed to take charge of the NFC South in Week 15. An extremely disappointing performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers dealt their slim playoff hopes a blow, but they are not out of the running just yet even if Steve Wilks is not entertaining the thought of postseason football in the team’s current state.

This is a make-or-break time for many across the franchise. Another busy offseason awaits with some important decisions upcoming, so the roster and coaching staff could look completely different by the time Carolina’s training camp rolls around next summer.

What comes over their final three games will have big repercussions. It’s also worth remembering how rash team owner David Tepper can be when it comes to making the correct football choices.

With this in mind, here are four Panthers who are running out of time in pursuit of new deals in 2023.

Al Holcomb – Carolina Panthers interim DC

The Carolina Panthers were found wanting from a defensive standpoint in Week 15 despite the Pittsburgh Steelers missing starting quarterback Kenny Pickett. This unit has performed well under interim coordinator Al Holcomb‘s leadership overall, but such an inept showing did nothing to improve his chances of winning the job long-term.

Holcomb has struggled in key moments, especially across the defensive front in terms of blitz packages. Pittsburgh had their way on third down en route to a comfortable triumph, so it’ll be interesting to see how the coach adjusts ahead of another stern test against the Detroit Lions on Christmas Eve.
