Carolina Panthers OL

After years of porous offensive line play, the Carolina Panthers now have a unit to be proud of. Significant investment was made in free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft on improving this group and the introduction of coach James Campen was another exceptional piece of business by those in power.

There have been some rocky performances – most notably in Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers – but it’s been refreshing to see all five linemen coming together, remaining relatively healthy, and performing way above what many envisaged before the campaign.

The free-agent additions of Bradley Bozeman and Austin Corbett brought a level of professionalism to the interior that wasn’t there previously. Ikem Ekwonu falling into Carolina’s lap at No. 6 overall in 2022 gave them a franchise left tackle at last if his fantastic rookie campaign is any indication.

Couple this with Brady Christensen’s promise at left guard and Taylor Moton’s presence at right tackle, and this group could be capable of great things moving forward. That’s why it’s essential for the Panthers to extend Bozeman before free agency in pursuit of maintaining continuity within a key positional group.

There are significant problems elsewhere, obviously. But the Panthers can relax safe in the knowledge their protection is the least of the team’s worries this offseason.
