With the 2022 season winding down, speculation is mounting about how the Carolina Panthers will approach some critical decisions during the off-season period. What conclusions those in power make are going to shape the future of the franchise, which has underachieved significantly in recent years thanks in no small part to the suspect leadership of previous head coach Matt Rhule.
David Tepper must find the right man to lead moving forward. Steve Wilks is making a strong claim, but the billionaire is likely to cast his net far and wide before coming to an official conclusion.
General manager Scott Fitterer also needs to handle the playing side. Carolina has some established free agents looking for new deals, with others such as Brian Burns set to demand lucrative contracts based on their growing influence on and off the field.

Andre Roberts – Carolina Panthers WR/KR
When the Carolina Panthers signed All-Pro kick returner Andre Roberts in free agency, hopes were high that the veteran could make a lasting contribution in 2022. However, injury struck at the worst possible time and he was only recently designated to return from injured/reserve.
The likes of Shi Smith and Raheem Blackshear have done well on special teams in his absence. So it would be a surprise if Roberts got another deal from Carolina before 2023 free agency commences.
