4 Panthers with everything to gain from final two games in 2022
By Dean Jones
Which Carolina Panthers have everything to gain from their final two fixtures of what’s been another rocky 2022 campaign?
Whether the growing sense of belief across the Carolina Panthers will amount to anything more will be determined over their remaining two games. It’s been another rollercoaster 2022 campaign full of twists, turns, and departures, but they somehow still have fate within reach despite a 6-9 record currently.
This is a testament to the methods implemented by Steve Wilks. The interim’s done a fantastic job and has the locker room’s full support, which is always half the battle and something he was able to accomplish almost immediately.
Winning at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints to close out their fixtures would win the NFC South. There is a lot on the line for Carolina over the next fortnight, but coping with increased expectations in a playoff-type atmosphere will determine their fate.
With this in mind, here are four Panthers with everything to gain over the team’s last two games of 2022.
Panther No. 1
Raheem Blackshear – Carolina Panthers RB/KR
While the performances of D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard are gaining the spotlight, and rightfully so, Raheem Blackshear‘s contribution from limited reps is something else that shouldn’t be ignored. The undrafted free agent adjusted well after joining from the Buffalo Bills practice squad, providing explosiveness when allocated carries and also lending support to the return game for good measure.
If Blackshear continues this trend over the next two weeks, then the Carolina Panthers would be wise to keep him around. Something that looks entirely possible based on the Virginia Tech product’s current trajectory.
