4 Panthers with everything to gain from final two games in 2022

Steve Wilks – Carolina Panthers interim HC
As stated previously, the complete turnaround across the Carolina Panthers since Matt Rhule’s reign of terror ended has been a huge lift. Almost everyone deserves credit, but this doesn’t happen without Steve Wilks and his immense influence.
Wilks had a challenging situation. One that became more difficult with the departure of various coaches and the loss of Christian McCaffrey, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for an incredible draft haul.
One thing that separates good coaches from the rest is the ability to lead and adjust. These are two specific traits Wilks possesses in abundance, which has everyone pulling in the same direction after not many bought into the process Rhule sold throughout his three-year tenure.
This positive impact has led many to believe team owner David Tepper will remove the interim tag from Wilks when the time comes. The billionaire is unpredictable at best when it comes to football decisions, but this is a gift he cannot afford to waste looking at the bigger picture.
If Wilks can galvanize this group of players enough to win out and secure the NFC South championship, this will be a foregone conclusion. Something that would allow the current interim to pick his franchise quarterback and form a coaching staff capable of leading Carolina back to prominence.
And make no mistake, every fan is rooting for this eventuality.
