4 New Year’s wishes for the Carolina Panthers in 2023

Carolina Panthers appoint Steve Wilks
For the Carolina Panthers to even find themselves within touching distance of the postseason with two games remaining is a testament to the job done by Steve Wilks. One that’s seen the franchise go from the NFL’s laughing stock to a feel-good story in double-quick time.
Wilks got the interim job after Week 5 and after an early struggle at the Los Angeles Rams, has completely galvanized everyone associated with the Panthers. His methods have gone down extremely well within the locker room, which led to many established stars calling for team owner David Tepper to make this move permanent when the time comes.
Carolina has a football team to be proud of once again. There is a newfound commitment and belief with Wilks at the helm, which is matched by a clear identity that has fans, players, and staff all pulling in the same direction.
The Panthers making the postseason would rubber-stamp this notion. But regardless of what unfolds, Tepper needs to see the opportunity in front of him and hire Wilks to lead this organization next season and beyond.
This would allow the respected figure to form his own staff and find the right playing personnel to potentially get Carolina back into contention. Something that the interim appointment looks highly capable of if his time leading the Panthers in 2022 is any indication.
