4 reasons Carolina Panthers should consider Jim Harbaugh for head coach

Carolina Panthers need a proven QB developer
Once the Carolina Panthers secure their next head coach – whoever it might be – then securing a potential franchise quarterback is next on the list. Something they don’t have on the roster right now.
Sam Darnold’s resurgence could get a short-term extension and Matt Corral is an unknown that could emerge as a starting candidate. But the Panthers need to examine the top quarterback prospects closely during the upcoming evaluation process and Jim Harbaugh knows them all extremely well already.
This inside knowledge could be highly advantageous. However, the head coach also has proven qualities when it comes to developing signal-callers to become productive in the NFL.
The biggest example of this centers on Colin Kaepernick, who has a close relationship with Harbaugh to this day. His work alongside Andrew Luck during his time at Stanford was a big reason why he became a generational talent and the consensus No. 1 overall selection in 2012.
Harbaugh’s credentials with promising quarterbacks are something else working in his favor. It’s also an element Carolina desperately needs if they go down the draft route as expected.
There could be plenty of twists and turns to come. But if the initial discussion between Harbaugh and David Tepper went well, then a formal interview and potential offer shouldn’t be too far behind.
