D’Onta Foreman – Carolina Panthers RB

Coming off an ineffective performance at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, D’Onta Foreman has plenty to play for in Week 18. Even if the Carolina Panthers have nothing left to secure but a draft pick.

It has been a truly frustrating experience as a Panthers fan this season when looking at the running back room. A group that started out with Christian McCaffrey, one of the best in the league, and a proven backup in Foreman never quite materialized the way many expected.

McCaffrey was traded to the San Francisco 49ers and Foreman responded by absolutely destroying the Buccanneers on the ground in Week 7. There was finally hope that not all was lost.

The Panthers are 4-1 when having a 100-yard rusher following their decision to part ways with McCaffrey and are an abysmal 1-4 when they do not. This is not a recipe for success and something opposing teams are all too aware of currently.

If Foreman wants to secure either the starting job in Carolina next season or possibly even a long-term contract, then a massive performance against a struggling New Orleans Saints defense is just what the doctor ordered.

This team lives and dies by the run – this begins with Foreman. If the rough-and-tumble running back is able to bounce back and take this game by storm, it’ll be smooth sailing for the Panthers heading into what could be a very interesting offseason.
