D.J. Moore extends 1,000-yard receiving streak

Considering all the turmoil surrounding the Carolina Panthers at quarterback once again, for D.J. Moore to even be in with a shot at gaining 1,000 receiving yards is remarkable. The former first-round pick was a relative afterthought early in the campaign, with Ben McAdoo’s shift to a run-first approach when Matt Rhule left something else that didn’t exactly work in the wideout’s favor.

Moore’s come to life in recent weeks after the Panthers went back to Sam Darnold as their starting option under center. The two are developing nice chemistry and when a big play is required in the passing game, it’s no secret where the signal-caller wants to go.

There is no denying Moore’s credentials. His track record in the face of adversity speaks for itself – something that was recognized by the Panthers last spring by handing the Maryland product a bumper new contract.

With one game remaining, Moore needs 122 receiving yards to cross into four figures for the fourth consecutive season. The New Orleans Saints boast a formidable secondary led by stud cornerback Marshon Lattimore, but there’s nothing to suggest he isn’t capable of reaching this goal.

Moore’s surpassed this total just once in 2022. It would be an incredible accomplishment – one that didn’t look possible once upon a time.
