Brian Burns prop bets

  • Record a sack and Carolina Panthers to win at +300 (FanDuel Sportsbook)

Brian Burns is in a tricky spot after the Carolina Panthers were officially eliminated from playoff contention last weekend at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On one hand, the defensive end is 2.5 sacks from equalling the single-season franchise record held jointly by Kevin Greene and Greg Hardy. On the other, Burns won’t want an unnecessary injury versus the New Orleans Saints messing up what could be a bumper contract extension this spring.

Burns is listed as questionable on the injury report and missed most of practice this week. Therefore, a scenario could emerge where the Panthers don’t risk the Florida State product in a relatively meaningless contest.

Of course, his competitive nature indicates Burns will state a strong case in pursuit of being out there. Especially considering he could land himself in the record books with a dominant performance against a Saints offensive line that is far from the force of old.

If Burns did end up equaling or securing Carolina’s single-season sack record, the additional dollars on his contract demands would be substantial.

This wager is entirely dependent on whether Burns suits up or not, obviously. But backing the former first-round pick to gain a sack and the Panthers to win at +300 with FanDuel Sportsbook (bet $100 to win $300) could be a risk worth taking.
