Carolina Panthers will target Frank Reich

Even though Frank Reich‘s time with the Indianapolis Colts didn’t go according to plan, it deserves some context. Some poor personnel moves at the quarterback position meant it became an uphill challenge for the coach, who couldn’t turn things around effectively and was fired midway through the campaign.

Reich will get plenty of interest in an immediate return to coaching. The Carolina Panthers plan to bring him in for an interview according to multiple reports and this is another candidate that meets David Tepper’s reported criteria all things considered.

The Panthers are looking for a proven head coach with impressive credentials. Reich is also an offensive-minded figurehead who spearheaded the Philadelphia Eagles offense to a memorable Super Bowl triumph with Nick Foles under center, which is no mean feat.

Leadership and complete command of the locker room are other areas where Reich thrives. Carolina’s roster has the tools to become extremely competitive in 2023 providing the right reinforcements come into the franchise via free agency or the draft, so this could be the win-now guy that steers them back to prominence.

If this was Tepper’s choice, few would complain. And there are far worse avenues for the Panthers to go down when one examines Reich’s full body of NFL work in recent years.
