Carolina Panthers could monitor Jordan Love

No sooner had the Green Bay Packers left the field after their shock Week 18 loss against the Detroit Lions, speculation began about Aaron Rodgers’ future. The veteran holds all the cards right now but refusing to swap his jersey and some typically cryptic quotes left his future up in the air heading into the offseason.

Rodgers’ latest failed bid for a Super Bowl might be his last. A late rally was not enough for the Packers to salvage their season and if he does end up walking away, Jordan Love should finally get the chance he’s been waiting for since 2020.

Love’s waited patiently – as Rodgers had to do behind Brett Favre. He also caught the eye during limited reps this season to add another level of intrigue in the event the former first-round pick does get a long-awaited promotion.

However, if Rodgers’ ego won’t let him walk away on a low note, then Love’s patience could wear extremely thin. This might be enough for the Packers to explore trade possibilities rather than picking up his fifth-year option.

While this would be a wildcard, Love’s learned a lot behind one of the game’s greatest-ever quarterbacks and could help the Carolina Panthers with a smooth transition. Whether this is better than moving up in the draft for a new signal-caller is another matter.
