What could the Carolina Panthers potentially offer the Arizona Cardinals for stud wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins if they showed interest?

There are few wide receivers who’ve moved the needle more than DeAndre Hopkins over the last decade. So when the news broke that the Arizona Cardinals might be receptive to trade offers, it likely put the Carolina Panthers and others around the league on high alert.

Hopkins missed the first six games of 2022 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. But the three-time All-Pro still managed 64 receptions for 717 receiving yards and three touchdowns despite a serious knee injury to star quarterback Kyler Murray.

If the Panthers made a move for Hopkins, it would instantly upgrade their wide receiver room. Only D.J. Moore managed to put up legitimate numbers in Carolina’s run-first scheme this season, although Terrace Marshall Jr. did show promise when given additional targets post-Matt Rhule.

This hypothetical trade scenario would also see Hopkins make a return home. He was born in Central, South Carolina, attended D.W. Daniel High School, and also make a significant impact at Clemson University en route to becoming the No. 27 overall selection in 2013.

There’s no denying Hopkins’ credentials. Whether this is a move that the Panthers consider in their current flux without a head coach appointed is the big question.

In the event Carolina does make its move for Hopkins before the 2023 campaign, here are three trade offers that could make it happen.
