Which Carolina Panthers players altered previous perceptions thanks to their impressive performance levels in 2022?

It looked like the Carolina Panthers would go nowhere in 2022. A 1-4 start saw Matt Rhule removed from the head coaching position and trading Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers was another clear sign of planning for the future rather than focusing on the now.

Steve Wilks was in no mood to throw in the towel. The interim head coach got to work quickly, installing belonging and hope in equal measure to conclude the campaign 6-6 and 7-10 overall.

Not only did results improve significantly under Wilks, but many players also thrived with a leadership change. Something that indicates further progress next season whether the former Arizona Cardinals head coach wins the job or not.

With this in mind, here are four Panthers players who altered perceptions regarding their future aspirations during the 2022 season.

Being in Matt Rhule’s dog house led many to believe Terrace Marshall Jr. didn’t have what it takes to succeed in the NFL. However, since the Carolina Panthers traded Robbie Anderson, the wide receiver’s production should quash any remaining concerns.

Marshall came up with some great plays and grew in stature throughout the campaign. The Panthers will likely add to their wideout options this offseason, but the one-time LSU star should be part of the rotation at the very least entering Year 3 of his professional career.
