Austin Corbett was signed in the 2022 offseason to solidify the offensive line interior. And he sure did that for the Carolina Panthers this season.

Starting in all 17 games, Corbett played at an immensely high level. He was rarely beaten in pass protection and generated push on most run plays.

No doubt his Super Bowl experience with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 came into play when the Panthers made the decision to give him a three-year, $26.25 million contract. Corbett played a large role in their successful quest for the Vince Lombardi Trophy and was crucial to Carolina’s success on the ground in a different environment.

The offensive line was abysmal in 2021. But it improved to be solid this season and aside from Bradley Bozeman, the starting options are all under contract for the next few years at least.

Corbett’s influence, experience, and consistency were core components behind a dramatic change of fortunes. He was a player who shined all season long.

Unfortunately, Corbett tore his ACL in the season finale against the New Orleans Saints, so a long road to recovery awaits. Hopefully, the former second-round pick won’t miss any regular-season time in 2023, which would be a body blow to the team’s continuity.
